The Coastal Classic

The Coastal Classic travels south of Anchorage to the little seaside town
of Seward. It offers spectacular views through the Turnagain Arm then passes
through the Kenai Peninsula and down to Seward. This is a wonderful train
tour to see glaciers, Dall Sheep, Moose, beluga and beluga whales. Traveling
130 miles
in each direction with a ride of 4 hours one-way many people
overnight in Seward and choose to take day trips and day cruises to Kenai
Fjords National Park.
The Glacier Discovery
The shortest route on the railroad, the Glacier Discovery
offers opportunities
to escape Anchorage and take unique day trips from Girdwood, Portage, and the
Kenai Mountains. The train stops at Girdwood, then goes to Portage. From Portage
you can go to Whittier and connect with cruses and Prince William Sound where
glacier and wildlife cruises are available. South of Portage, the tour stops
following road system and heads straight up the Placer River Valley. If Gl
